I bought some curry powder from iherb and my husband immediately thought of a particular recipe he’s found online a week ago. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the other spices required so, we had a quick grocery stop. This was in Danube, Panorama Mall in Riyadh.

He was able to cook something indeed! A super spicy meal!
Indian food is quite popular in our home but he made it exaggeratedly spicy that I settled with chicken nuggets instead. My tongue can only tolerate the pepper kind of spicy. His version will get me to the hospital for sure.
It was extra special because it’s very rare that I get to go out. YES, I am at the office daily since we resumed the regular office set up but that’s all I ever go. Being with husband doing errands is something I have missed so much. We were so overwhelmed by our concerns that we forget to enjoy the zen like feels of grocery shopping together.
I want to share a song that I have learned at the Bible camp when I was in Primary School. It’s called It’s a Happy Day,
It's a happy day, and I thank God for the weather It's a happy day, living it for my Lord It's a happy day, things are gonna get better Living each day by the promises in God's word
This song reminds me of God’s goodness and love because despite the circumstances, there are people who still love and support us unconditionally. I am forever grateful!

Speaking of happiness, one of the things that certainly makes me happy is being remembered by our thoughtful blogbuddies like Yonna of JustYonna. She is an inspirational blogger who is also a medical student. Her about me section is so awesome that I want to share it with you, exactly as how she has written it,
A young girl reawakening her unexplored passions. My name is Kamsiyonna. It’s an igbo name and it means, ‘as I ask of the father.’ Yonna, the site name was gotten from my name. Sometimes as a young writer it can be hard getting inspirations on what to write on or what to share. Whenever in doubt, ask the Father (Yonna). For those who may not understand who the Father is, the Father is God. I really hope my posts help you find inspiration and the boost to live your best lives.
She’s nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award and since I have probably ran out of people to nominate having tagged almost everyone, I am inviting whoever loves Q&As to answer Yonna’s question and ping us back once done so we can read your answers too! You can find the rules from her post:
1. What does sunshine mean to you?
Sunshine means anything that gives me warmth and those that brighten up my life!
2. What inspires you the most?
Knowing that I am still being blessed by the Lord despite my imperfections. Who am I to live uninspired?
3. Are there any type of thoughts that pop up in your mind frequently? If yes, what do you think is the reason behind it?
I used to have something every waking hour. I am unable to sleep because of it. I was uneasy and restless. But thank God for the comfort that He’s given me recently. It was as if He’s literally touched me and reminded me how my thoughts are filled with worry and concerns instead of casting everything upon Him and not leaning on my own understanding! He truly is amazing. Now my thoughts are filled with gratefulness because despite everything, He didn’t allow for me to get eaten by loneliness.
4. What are your opinions about the phrase “Reflect on life?”
Sometimes, when people tell me to reflect on life, it does come a little condescending. It depends on how they say it.
Reflecting on life in its very essence is something we have to do once in a while. This will make us appreciate the things that we have and don’t have and the things we want to strive for. It is also a good time to ponder on the choices we have made and the paths we have taken. To reflect on life is to assess our current state of being.
5. Do you spend some time with yourself? If yes, then how?
I do have my ‘quiet time’ in the morning, when everyone is still asleep. But after work? It is hard because my husband and son are both so clingy! But these days, my husband generously allows for me to have an alone time without interruptions while I do some stretching with meditation – sounds like yoga right?
He also allocates some quiet time for me to write entries for my blog and do some content writing for a brand that I’ve reconnected with recently. After that, we’re back at homeschooling, house chores, Animal Crossing, reading, streaming… the things we do in my super little time available at home.
Congrats! And yes, food shopping can be quite meditative! 🌞

It’s so nice that you got to go shopping with your husband. The song you shared is a really lovely one. I’ve never heard it, but the lyrics are beautiful. I’m so honored to have been mentioned by you 🙈. Thank you so much for your nice words. I really appreciate them. 💕💕 Your answers are really beautiful ones. I particularly like your inspiration. It struck me. Who are we really to live uninspired when God has blessed us despite our faults? It’s really nice you spare some time alone despite your busy schedule. Those alone times have a way of relieving stress and keeping mind and body together. Once again, thanks for your lovely words about me.🤗🤗

It’s my pleasure… knowing and learning more about you has brought me joy and warmth… I love your name ❤ ❤ ❤ It made my name soooo basic… Hahaha. My name is Genesis Grace (being the first born —the supposed first grace of my parents hehe) they'd joke, had we known you'd be like that, we would have named you differently…
It's a children song classified as an hymn… listen to it when you have time, it is quite cheery 😀

Awww☺️☺️🙈 thank you. It’s a pleasure knowing you too. I think your name is wonderful too. Genesis… The first. Maybe it’s God’s way of saying you’ll be the head at anything you do or put your mind into. That you’ll be on top. That you’ll be a great success. So i think it’s pretty cool too. Don’t even get me started on Grace😉.

Thank you… you are right… my name has kept me from stumbling multiple times because I am reminded to live up to it… it doesn’t make me perfect of course, but with the same grace God’s given us, we are justified 🙂
Thanks ❤

Ohhh, I really miss going out too! 😦 Haha sometimes taking a break is reallyyyy important. And I’m glad you get to have bonding time with your hubby again, Janis! I also have a low tolerance for spicy food but I still manage to eat some. But if I can’t take it, I definitely won’t sit and torture myself. Hahaha Loved your answer in number four! Reflecting in life is something we seldom do but I think everyone should do it. I believe it keeps us anchored within ourselves and in the present. Thanks for this wonderful post, I’ve missed reading your blogs. 🙂 Have a good day! ❤

I’ve missed you too!
It’s rare that I meet people with low tolerance for spicy food. People always find me odd for not being able to eat kimchi especially with the Korean bandwagon. but I can’t tolerate anything spicy.
What you said is true. I like that statement, “being anchored within ourselves and in the present” — that is so accurate.

iHerb sounds like a very corny name for a web site but I went looking and it is here, too! Must be a multinational operation because the site displayed prices in GBP.

Haha. True. It’s kind of corny… my husband initially thought it’s like one of those cannabis online sites 😀
But it’s a good site… there are lots of great deals… and for us living in Saudi Arabia where goods are not always available at the store, it’s super helpful!

I loveee Indian food!! Theyre full of flavors! Now, I am craving 😂 is it also weird that I actually sing the song you posted instead of reading it? I don’t even know how it should sound like but oh well… 😅😂

I think some people are like that. Wired to sing 😀 I bet you love music!
I love Indian food especially the ones that are cooked in coconut… My boss franchised Yellow Chilli here and we get to taste it every so often… amazing!
It’s still early from where you are, order now! 😀 😀 😀

How is the return to school where you live ?

They resumed thru online education. Synchronous learning mostly.. for people who are busy during the day, we’ve chosen to enroll our kids to schools that offer open curriculum…

Congratulations on the award!
I also really enjoyed my time grocery shopping before the pandemic and I missed it a lot during lockdown. The first time we went grocery shopping again was such a great experience.

YES! There’s a sense of freedom; despite knowing that we’re not technically freed yet, it’s still quite liberating 😀
