MISSING MONDAY: Light Skin Girl from London

This is one of the prompts that I have committed myself into doing this year. Missing Monday is about everything that you are longing to see, hear, experience or taste again… I know we’ve been missing a lot of things / people because of the pandemic — there are 52 weeks in a year, I’ll see if I’d get to un-miss them in 2021.

I miss getting to listen to Lenny Kravitz’s music all day everyday… It’s been so long since I got to finish a playlist of my own. Now, all I can hear is that of my husband’s. It’s not that they’re not good, it’s just that, well they’re not like mine. I mean, his has got too much hiphop on & I am not that into it.

Here’s something from Lenny. Enjoy!

LIGHT SKIN GIRL FROM LONDON

She’s unique and complete
And with the dog will sleep
She loves to read – she drew her feet and
She drew Jesus too
Oh Yeah
Light skin girl from London
Light skin girl from London

She understands,
She’ll read your hands
And take the future right outta your plans
She’ll let you in, but she won’t take you where she lives
Oh no, light skin girl from London
Light skin girl from London,
Yeah yeah yeah

She’s got style, but all the while
She dances to the beat out of time
She often cries, and she can speak to you through her mind
Oh no no no no
Light skin girl from London
Light skin girl from London, yeah
Light skin girl from London
She’s a light skin girl from London
She’s a,
She’s a light skin girl from London
She’s a light skin girl from London, yeah yeah
She’s a light skin girl from London, oh yeah yeah
She’s a
