I went to my mom’s house — I was chilling for some time until she came to the living room and told me that she’s cooked Paksiw na Bangus for me. I love fish dishes especially for Bangus (Milkfish). She recalled what I said the week before that I miss it so much because I never get to eat that since my husband doesn’t like it. The following week, I’ve got paksiw! I totally have the best mother ever!

So about the incident — as you may have read previously, I am currently on KETO (see previous post for reference). Everyone loves interrogating me as to what I eat plus I just handed my sister’s BHB from our recent iHerb order (not just keto products, it also includes turmeric among other supplements). So here’s how the conversation went down:

I spaced & forgot that I have actually eaten rice. It’s like I’ve instinctively done that, ate without remorse, even unaware of what’s happening. I screamed so loudly because it totally broke my already building ketosis. For some reason, I took 4 caps of BHB before heading to the parentals so it should mitigate the drastic effects somehow. Uggh… I was already doing so good but I failed to be in full ketosis.
Eating is always what I do whenever I visit my parents. They’ve got full pantry all the time with all the goodies especially designed for me and Brook. They’re so cool about our food preferences and diet. Imagine, both of them are diabetics (so their diet limits them) but they still see to it that everyone’s appetite is fulfilled. I am always on keto and intermittent fasting, my youngest sister is vegan and the middle one has some weird program that no one knows of. Nevertheless, folks got us all covered!
And by the way, in case you’re interested about Paksiw na Bangus, here’s the recipe:

It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep. Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. – Proverbs 25:27-28
Relatable. ππ

Awww, hope you get to taste your mom’s Paksiw na Bangus again soon β€ I am glad this post made you think of your mom (although they're always on our mind, regardless, right?)
LOL re: diet. Being on Keto can get pretty repressive sometimes, but after a month or two, we get the hang of it!
Enjoy your visit to your mom!
